Lovely Day
it was a chaotic day which involved me getting lost while going to an
appointment to get Levi's 18 month* pictures at a friends house. We
got started going there later than we anticipated so we were rushing
to try go get there as soon as possible. Well, of course what happens
when you try to get somewhere quick? It actually takes you longer to
get there then you anticipated. First I got off on the wrong exit and
had to ask for directions, D'oh! Then the person at the gas station
actually wasn't very helpful and actually said "I don't know this area
very well." Why do I ask people in gas stations for help? Luckily,
some random guy was really helpful and gave me some good directions.
Next, it didn't help that we came across a road project. The Minnesota
Department of Transportation decided they needed to trim the branches
around the road that we were traveling on today, naturally! So once we
got past the road project we got there reasonably quick except we
actually passed the house twice. Once we got there we got some good
pics taken though Levi got tired toward the end. We're crossing our
fingers hoping that the pics turn out good. After that we hung out at
my parents house and ran an errand or two and ate some pizza with
them. We ate outside and had a nice time and treated them to some
Dairy Queen.
Next up Shopping Day with my lovely wife sans the kiddo!

No Voice!!
I have to talk a lot every hour. When you have a cold and the phlegm
works it's way down to your throat and you have to talk a lot can be
problematic. The end result? Me losing my voice for the first time
ever! I pushed through it and tried to do my training sessions, though
it wasn't easy as the customers could barely hear me.
Well, it took about three days for my voice to fully recover and
during the recovery time I commented to several people that I sounded
like someone who had be smoking for about 20 years including the
patented laugh. Good times. I was given various home remedies for
losing your voice. What's the best remedy? When was the last time you
lost your voice? Why did you lose it?
Post your suggestions and comments below!

place. I have had a bunch of stuff going on and haven't had much time
to blog, hence the blog about not being able to blog, wait that's
ironic isn't it. Oh well, the moral of the story is… I'll have more to
write when I have more time to write.

Analogy for Living Life
PC post. My wife made an analogy to me the other night that really
resonated with me, probably because I'm such a Mac enthusiast. We had
been discussing how sometimes my hum-drum attitude is holding me back,
I think that things are fine the way they are even if they could be
better. My mentality is: this is what I'm used to and it's fine.
This is where the analogy comes into play. Many PC users (not all,
though, I should add) are fine with the way things are with their
computer even though they could be better, it's what they are used to
and that's fine with them. I have been living my life through a PC
user mentality, reinstall Windows, oh sure I do that all the time
that's normal. Another thing about some PC users (like me in life) is
that they just seem as if they don't know or care about their
computers (or in my case, life) as much (this I cannot figure out). I
have been doing the same thing with my life, I have been living an
apathetic life living it as though I don't care about it and don't
need to change it because this life is what I'm used to.
One thing I admire about many Mac users is they are vested in the use
of their computer, Mac users enjoy their computers and look for ways
to improve their computer if something can be done. Also, they want to
know how to do things as apposed to having others do it for you and
not know how to do it yourself. I need to embrace this mentality for
my life by not just saying things are fine the way the are because
that's what I'm used to, I need to be a person who lives life for its
potential not just for its requirements.
Thoughts? I know this is a heavier post than most for me and may
require a part 2 to adequately explain this analogy.

Spring, desprung
appears to be the pattern that we are going with right now. My money
is on a direct jump to summer with the heat and humidity (bleck). I
like summer just not when it's really hot like 90 degrees or so, that
for me is just too hot. I wish right now we could get some sunshine
and some warmer weather. The other day I was at work and it was nice
and warm outside and inside it was like a sauna. What makes it worse
is that I had been contemplating wearing shorts that day and decided
against it, a customer of mine was literally glistening during one of
our appointments. The next day I decided to wear shorts and go figure
the high was about 50 and it was nice and cool in the store (Murphy's
Law right?). Anyway, I just am looking forward to a nice sunny day. On
the positive side though, I haven't had to mow the lawn yet!

Tagging… This time it's for Real!
Four movies I could watch over and over:
• Dumb and Dumber
Places I've lived:
They are all in Minnesota: Bloomington, Roseville, West St. Paul, South St. Paul, and Mounds View
Four TV shows I like:
Three people who email me regularly:
Where would I rather be?
Four people I'm tagging:
One Shining Moment
year I was kind of indifferent about the tourney, though I did hope
that Memphis would pull it out. It definitely came down to free throws
in the end. Making free throws is such a critical aspect of
basketball, something that was always emphasized to me even as a young
player. Free throw shooting was a concern that a lot of sports experts
were concerned about for Memphis, turns out they were right. Of course
Mario Chalmers made a dramatic three pointer to tie the game to send
the game into overtime. Kansas just took over the game in overtime.
Overall, it was an entertaining game, though I was a little
disappointed that Memphis totally blew it.
Did your team win? How'd you do with your bracket?

First BBQ of the Year
Kansas vs. UNC game I'm pulling for UNC because I've always liked UNC for a long time now. This year has been interesting following the tournament for me since I didn't fill out a bracket for this first time in a long time. Not filling out a bracket has been a little weird to me because I haven't had any vested interest in any of the games giving me the ability to root for who I truly want to win rather than who I think will win. The Final Four this year will be a great Final
Four since it is the first time that all four of the top seeds made the Final Four this year for the first time since 1979. I would love to see a UCLA vs. UNC Championship game though Memphis vs. UNC would be interesting too.
Well, your not reading a sports page, sorry about the dissertation on the Final Four. If you didn't know it about me I am a basketball junkie and love the NCAA tournament and NBA basketball. I love watching and playing basketball always have, always will.
Well, that should do it for now, have a great day and check out the tourney if you get a chance.
