I have to talk a lot every hour. When you have a cold and the phlegm
works it's way down to your throat and you have to talk a lot can be
problematic. The end result? Me losing my voice for the first time
ever! I pushed through it and tried to do my training sessions, though
it wasn't easy as the customers could barely hear me.
Well, it took about three days for my voice to fully recover and
during the recovery time I commented to several people that I sounded
like someone who had be smoking for about 20 years including the
patented laugh. Good times. I was given various home remedies for
losing your voice. What's the best remedy? When was the last time you
lost your voice? Why did you lose it?

Supposedly, milk can irritate it more. Honey can smooth a sore throat. A shot of whiskey can temporarily clear it. Just ask Dr. J any time!!!
I loose my voice at least once a year. When I was doing phone sales, I used to use it 2x a year from fatigue. Like you, my job was dependent on being able to talk. There wasn't anything I could do, other than call in sick (once, Carolyn had to call in for me, for obvious reasons). Take advantage of it. One of those days, Carolyn and I went house shopping and found the house we're living in now. Do something you normally wouldn't.
